Steps Vis-A-Vis Embryo Transfer Technology Hailed

31 May 2007

PAKISTAN - The Dairy Farmers Association, Karachi President Haji Mohammad Akhtar in a statement said that the step taken by the Sindh government vis-‡-vis embryo transfer technology was highly appreciable and welcome.

He said that he was indebted to the Sindh chief minister who has taken the step to augment milk yielding and animal production in the province.

He said that this was the first step towards a white revolution where the government has granted Rs 4982 million to revamp the dairy sector. Due to the embryo transfer technology, the production of milk and meat will be increased to a substantial amount which will mitigate the scarcity in the province and eventually cause the prices to fall.

“To satiate the daily demand of pure and fresh milk the government is bound to import dry milk powder from abroad,” he said.
