According to the Fiji Times, the Ministry of Agriculture has warned of more clean-ups to be conducted by officials to rid the killer disease that continues to threaten cattle livestock, particularly in dairy farms in the greater Tailevu area.

Permanent secretary for Agriculture Colonel Mason Smith said officers would update his office this week on clean-up efforts.

Mr Smith said 13 small dairy farms, which were affected, were expected to be cleaned up. Last week, he said the two bigger farms cattle from which were infected with brucellosis would be the last to be cleaned out by agriculture officers.

"At the moment we have quarantined the two big farms," Mr Smith said.
