Another FMD Outbreak in Kazakhstan
KAZAKHSTAN - The Kazakhstani veterinary authorities have reported another new outbreak of foot and mouth disease in cattle and sheep.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no.1 yesterday, 23 June. The outbreak was detected at a village in the northwestern city of Uralsk.
Clinical signs as loss of appetite, fever, lameness and vesicles on the lips, nose and oral cavity were observed, the report states.
A total of 145 cattle were found susceptible to the outbreak, out of which 9 cases were identified. All 145 animals were destroyed.
Introduction of new live animals has been confirmed as the main source of the outbreak. According to the report, quarantine measures were lifted on Monday, 20 June, in the outbreak at Tinali.
