Database For Milk Buyers Communication Launched
SPAIN - In Spain, a collaboration agreement, with the aim of improving the coherence and transparency in the milk sector through the strengthening of procedures relating to contracts for milk sales, has been signed by the Director General for Agriculture and Livestock, Margarita Arboix and President of the Inter-Way (INLAC), Roman Santalla.This Agreement is an essential part of the efforts and initiatives launched by the Marmara within the "Strategic Plan for Spanish dairy sector: Horizon 2015," in the field of contracting in the dairy sector, and is a true reflection of close collaboration, cooperation and stability in relations between the Ministry and the Inter-Way, which has been evident in recent years and has proved essential for making decisions regarding this sector, in particular, for the difficulties that emerged in the market in 2009 and 2010.
This collaboration is well recognised and reinforced for the future on the basis of the agreement signed.
Thus, the Convention establishes a commitment to collaboration between the Marmara and INLAC for creating the database of contracts in the dairy sector, and for encouraging and promoting the sector, all within the framework of the purposes attributed to INLAC under the Royal Decree on recruitment in the dairy sector.
This anticipates a new channel of cooperation between the parties, which will be essential after the full entry into operation of this Royal Decree, soon after approval the proposal for a Community regulation, the processing is well advanced. This way you can already have the necessary tool (the database) for operators in the sector to comply with the obligation to report data on any contract between producers and industries.
Both parties, as well as working together in creating and maintaining this database, acquire other specific commitments.
For its part, the Marmara, available to the agents of the dairy chain current, objective and accurate pricing and parameters that have a decisive influence on supply and demand, so that information is available with more immediately for all agents in the chain.
In this sense, the database comes to the department website, providing a full report on milk prices, prepared by the FEGA from the monthly returns made by buyers (industry, unions, etc) under their obligations under the regime of milk levy. This report is available at the following link:
