Tycolah Jovial F77, bred and exhibited by the Steve and Theresa Crowley and son Ben, Barraba, NSW, was senior and grand champion Poll Hereford bull and supreme champion Poll Hereford exhibit. He then went on to defeat the grand champion bulls from all other breeds and then had to overcome the supreme champion all breeds beef female.

For the first time Sydney Royal utilised a panel of three judges to select the interbreed winners. The panel comprised Anthony Coates, Eidsvold, Queensland, and brothers Ted and James Laurie, Gloucester, New South Wales.

A jubilant Steve Crowley said it was his ‘biggest win in 36 years exhibiting at Sydney Royal’ and said Jovial would now go on to the 2012 Dubbo National Poll Hereford Show and Sale in June.

Jovial is not new to major awards. Last year at Sydney Royal as a nine months old calf he was junior and grand champion Poll Hereford bull.

Jovial’s sire, Karina Cherry Z8, continues to churn out champions. His progeny have been supreme champion Poll Hereford exhibits and won the sire’s progeny group and best pair of bulls awards at each of the past three Sydney Royals.

The supreme champion all breeds beef exhibit at the 2012 Sydney Royal was this Poll Hereford bull Tycolah Jovial F77, with judge Anthony Coates, Eidsvold, RAS president Glenn Dudley, judges Ted and James Laurie, and exhibitors Steve, Theresa and Ben Crowley, Barraba, New South Wales.
