Animal Health Authority Receives TB and Brucellosis Guidance
BELIZE - With the help of Mexican authorities a national cattle health check has been commissioned to improve herd traceability and health in drive to improve export links.

Coordinated by the Belize Agircultural Health Authority (BAHA) and the National Service of Health, Food Safety and Quality (Senasica), the project forms part of the corss-national agreement on beef trading.
The Belizian government are being aided by Mexican health groups because of Mexican governemnt commitment to the preservation of full animal health as part of the scheme "Strategic Plan for Partnership Binational Mexico-Belize on health and trade".
Senasica has pledged to work closely with a range of veterinarians to eradicate Brucellosis and tuberculosis over a twelve month period. The services of ten veterinarians and field supervisors have been made available to enact the plan.
Over this time surveys will be carried out to focus efforts by assessing disease presence.
Further to the scheme is a cattle identification exercise that aims to offer a comprehensive registration system to all Belizean cattle.
