The approval was granted as part of government objectives to diversify Argentine exports to China and strenghten trade relations between the two countries.

Official approval was granted after a rigorous week of auditing and inspection carried out by a government delegation involving SENASA and the General Administration of Quality, Inspection and Quarantine Supervision.

Marcelo Miguez said: “The goal of the plant and animal health agency is to develop an initiation process with the Chinese. Agriculture minister, Norberto Yauhar wishes the process to be as smooth and effective as possible.”

The facilities are located in South and North Buenos Aires, Metropolitan, Santa Fe, Cordoba, La Pampa, San Luis and Northern Patagonia.

Negotiations will conclude in May when Mr Yauhar travels to China to sign relevant agreements between the two countries.
