The ten week programme came to an end on Friday after training 12 producers in animal handling, milking, nutrition and the merits of New Zealand products.

Ran in conjunction with the Tarahati Agricultural Training Centre the scheme involved the farmers spending nine weeks at Masterton and one week at Massey University.

The opportunity was used to educate farmers about good farming practice and build trade partnerships with Indonesia.

“Our brands have been in Indonesia for over 30 years and it is an important export market for Fonterra,” said Fonterra Vice President of International Farming Ventures Peter Moore. “The programme has been a great initiative that has allowed us to strengthen our key relationships and build Fonterra’s reputation in local communities which is essential for our success in the country.”
