Income From Dairy Falls Despite Exports Rise
AUSTRALIA – Values of dairy exports from June to March fell slightly, despite a shipments rise, according to Dairy Australia’s Export Summary.

Figures for the period from June 2012 to March should Dairy exports lifted 7.6 per cent to 603,856 tonnes while values dropped by 1.3 per cent.
This loss was headed by a decrease in income from Butter Oil and Whole Milk Powder which fell 26 and 18 per cent respectively.
This was contrary to Butter Oil shipments rising by 1.4 per cent although the WMP drop was linked, in part to a 13 per cent fall in shipments.
Butter shipments increased by more than half to 32,1195 grossing AUS$105,338, a value increase of 7 per cent.
Income from cheese fell despite a rise in shipments of ‘other cheese’. Cheddar exports fell by 3.2 per cent and made 4.4 per cent less than the previous year.
