Fonterra Opens Second New Plant in 2015
NEW ZEALAND – Production has started at Fonterra’s new reverse osmosis facility on the South Island site of Edendale, promising to cut transport costs on bulk produce.

The second of three plants to be built this year, the process will reduce the physical volume or weight of milk.
A fortnight ago, Fonterra opened a Milk Protein Concentrate (MPC) plant and a new Anhydrous Milk Fat (AMF) plant is scheduled for early October.
Fonterra manager, Richard Gray, said: “We’re now looking forward to the third and final plant coming online soon, allowing us to get the most out of all the milk that comes through the site over the coming months and years.”
