Slow Progress on Grass Growth Delayed UK's Spring Milk Peak
UK - Throughout March and April, below average temperatures restricted grass growth, hampering spring turnout, according to levy board AHDB Dairy.

Some farms would have also delayed turnout due to the risk of damage to sodden pasture, following months of heavy rainfall.
Since then, pasture growth improved significantly during May.
AHDB Dairy suggested that this delayed growth effect, together with the low milk prices, delayed the UK's spring peak in daily milk deliveries by around one week compared with previous years.
