Introduced in response to UK government guidelines[1] that as a nation, the UK is not hitting the recommended 30g of fibre a day, the plain format will sit alongside the current range of four fruit-based flavours.

With no added sugar, the plain yogurt is ideal for a variety of usage occasions and provides consumers with an easy way to increase fibre intake. With 5.3g of fibre per 150g[2], Arla Fibre’s new plain format is a low fat source of the nutrient but without the taste or texture of fibre.

James Quayle, brand manager for Arla Fibre, comments, "When developing Arla Fibre, we wanted to make sure it was tasty as well as helping to increase intake so it is easy for consumers to just swap their normal yogurt without having to make any drastic changes to their diet.

"With the introduction of plain into the range, this offers another choice and with plain yogurt being so versatile in usage occasions, Fibre can be enjoyed at any time in a number of different ways, whether it's breakfast or dessert."

Introduced in January, Arla Fibre is another new innovation from the dairy co-operative that adds value to consumers modern and changing lifestyles. Expanding its range in the yogurt category, Arla Fibre is the first of its kind in the market and launched as an easy, convenient and great tasting way to eat more of the good stuff and support a balanced digestion[3]. Also high in protein and a source of calcium[4], it’s fibre for people who can’t be fussed with fibre.

Arla Fibre in plain will be available from Tesco stores nationwide on 21 May in 450g pots. For more information visit www.arlafoods.co.uk/fibre.
