Dairy industry to hold crisis talks with Fed Govt

AUSTRALIA - The dairy industry is holding crisis talks tomorrow with the Federal Government over a shortage of fodder supplies.

The meeting in Canberra with Agriculture Minister Peter McGauran follows an emergency briefing between 35 Australian dairy industry leaders and processors in Melbourne.

The group is calling on the Government to fund an immediate audit of on-farm hay stocks.

It also wants clarification over water access for the dairy industry.
