According to the Argentine Beefpackers S.A., the workers had grouped in the provincial branch of the Association of Dairy Workers Association and were going to march across the city.

The union members, were attacked by around 300 workers from the SanCor dairy processing factory, when the casualties occurred.

The Union members were allegedly armed with clubs, bicycle chains and guns, however it was in fact the union members who sustained the injuries.

The Minister of Security in Sant Fe, said “there is going to be a full Federal Police, investigation into the incident. We do not know at this stage how many were injured on both sides, only that 10 union members are in hospital and one was dead on arrival”.

There have been problems in the dairy industry, with lay offs of men and union objections.
