"Auction Check subscribers are able to easily and electronically manage various market demands and requirements associated with value-added beef. Those demands include the growing market for age and source verified beef, as well as recent legislation pertaining to Country of Origin Labeling (COOL)," said Jim Heinle, president of Global Animal Management. "GAM developed Auction Check specifically with auction markets and sale barns in mind to help manage the different types of segmentation occurring in the cattle industry, and to manage the impact it is having on operations handling different sales on different days. The idea behind Auction Check is to ensure auction facilities and barns are ready if and when additional market or legislative pressures need to be met."

Auction Check can be utilized to meet compliance requirements associated with the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) via a voluntary interface with the GAM Animal Tracking Database (ATD). In addition to the benefits of age and source verification, the system also allows subscribers to become valuable marketing partners by helping buyers meet record keeping requirements for mandatory COOL Compliance. The online process allows facilitators to easily keep track and update cattle records, which are stored in a secure electronic data warehouse. Cattle records can be updated as needed, and when calves are ready for market, are easily transmitted to the next owner.

"Auction Check adds value to the cattle we sell, and in turn, makes a better product for our buyers," said Cody Volmer, Owner of Presho Livestock. "There are quite a few feed lots in the Northern Plains with a large demand for age and source verified cattle. If we were not able to offer verified cattle, we would have lost some of our customer base."

GAM offers products and services for individual or group animal identification, storage, processing, analysis and reporting. GAM was the first company to have USDA interim-approved identification database with electronic ear tags approved by the NAIS.
