Mongolia Vaccinates Animals Against FMD

MONGOLIA - The Mongolian veterinary authorities have reported that the country's animals have been vaccinated against foot and mouth disease.

The World Organisation for Animal Health received follow-up report no. 2 on 16 October 2010.

According to the report, animals such as camelidae, cattle, goats, sheep and swine have been vaccinated in the administrative divisions of Sukhbaatar and Dornod.

In Sukhbaatar, a total of 15903 cattle were vaccinated. In Dornod, 46 swine and 53892 cattle were vaccinated.

The cause of the outbreak has not been identified.
