Bolivia Tightens Border Controls with Paraguay
BOLIVIA - Bolivia's animal health authorities have decided to increase the level of control on the border with Paraguay, fearing that Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) may spread across Paraguay's boarder.

The AmericaEconomiareports that the National Agricultural Health and Food Safety (SENASAG) decided to send more technicians and veterinarians to the border, as published by the Times of Bolivia portal.
Thus, the authorities will strengthen the control of meat and dairy inported from Paraguay.
About 100 people will be inspecting, ordered by the Minister of Rural Development and Land, Nemesia Achacollo.
During the last FMD outbreak last September, Bolivia set up two checkpoints on the border in El Tigre and the Tuscaloosa, according to local newspaper publication.
