$500 billion for Dairy Sector Improvements
COLUMBIA - The Columbian government is to invest more than half a million US dollars into the Columbian dairy industry, to increase productivity and improve competitiveness.Along with this investment, the Ministry of Agriculture has also said that money is available for small and medium producers to improve their herd genetics.
This support is to protect Columbian producers from free trade agreements (FTA) with the European Union. Minister of Agriculture Juan Camilo Restrepo Salazar said that he would not allow milk imports to enslave domestic producers.
