Minister Federov Discusses Kaluga Business Growth

RUSSIA - The Agriculture Minister, Nikolai Federov, met with Kaluaga Govenor, Anatoly Artamonov, to discuss farm support through loans and rural community development.

During a visit to the Kaluga Region, Minister of Agriculture, Nikolai Fedorov, had a meeting with the Governor Anatoly Artamonov. Mr Fedorov outlined the key tasks that should play an important role in the development of Kaluga agriculture. Among them - the development of family livestock farms and support beginning farmers.

During the discussion the problems surrounding the growth of small rural businesses was raised. Since the beginning of the national project for the development of small farms have attracted more than 1.8 billion rubles of concessional loans.

The aims of the department programme is to develop family livestock farms and support young farmers.

The discussion also touched on the social development of rural settlements. The Kaluga region allocated 200 million rubles from various budgets this year.

"Everything I saw in Kaluga fitted my overarching ideas for rural communtiy development and the progression of agricultural policy," said Nikolai Federov on completion of the meeting.
