State Subsidises New Milking Machines

UKRAINE - The Ukraine Government is assisting dairy farmers, with herds of three of more, with the buying of new milking equipment which has an aggregate cost of 12.4 million grivna.

Through a the state programme of partial reimbursement for individual milking units, the owners of farms have been aided inpurchased nearly 4,000 such units.

Currently, the state budget sent 12.4 million for compensation of purchased vehicles. Told Director of Livestock Ministry of Agriculture and Food Andrew Hetya.

"This programme is aimed at owners of three or more cows entitling them to receive compensation for costs of new machines.

"It is Gratifying to note that people responded to this program, and in regions already allocated 12.4 million from the state budget for compensation of acquired milking machines," said Andrey Hetya.

The government stated the importance of the machines as they improve milk quality by reducing contact with human hands and are efficient.

"It is gratifying to note the response to the milk machines programme which has been praticularly significant in the Volyn region where regional authorities have implemented the plan and farmers have confidence in the scheme."
