Industry Agrees to Parasite Treatment Regulations

NICARAGUA – The National Cattlemen’s Association has agreed to restriction placements on the parasite treatment ‘ivermectin’.

Following a consultation undertaken by Agriculture Minister, Ariel Bucardo, with representatives of the national cattle industry, an agreement was reached to develop a series of farmer oriented courses where the scope of the agreement was explained.

The restriction applies to products containing ivermectin in concentrations higher than 1 per cent.

It is hoped that trade and will be boosted by regulating drug use in animals of this kind.
