Tick Policy Introduces Provincial Monitoring

ARGENTINA – Tick control movement and monitoring measures have been bolstered by the introduction of a ‘provincial plan’ revealed this week by the National Health and Food Quality Service (SENASA).

Animal health authorities took a step closer to formally adopting a new disease strategy at the offices of the Foundation for the Control of Foot and Mouth disease in Parana.

Primary focus was placed on protocols and guidelines for cattle movements. Entry of cattle from areas with the parasite is to be regulated by monitoring efforts.

Nicholas Winter, Animal Health Coordinator for the regional health centre at Entre Rios was amongst technical experts that reviewed the epidemiological situation of different regions.
