Dairy Representatives Meet to Discuss Prices

ITALY – Milk producers are a step closer to a dairy markets solution.

Dairy sector representatives met with the minister of agriculture, Nunzia De Girolamo to save Italian dairying by negotiating a fair price for milk.

The minister said it was crucial for the sector that leading figures colluded to arrive at a solution for Italian farmers.

Spokesmen for the Lombardy region and the Fava district were in attendance.

Minister de Girolamo said: "I thank the representatives of agricultural organizations and those of the dairy industry for having accepted my invitation to meet to address issues crucial to the future of the industry.

“I was already an important result that it brought the parties around the table and my role would be just the stimulus to the resumption of the dialogue. Fundamental now reach as soon as possible solutions to give urgent answers to the many actors involved.''

The party then proceeded to Milan to conclude negotiations.
