The course, sponsored by STARTVAC®, was attended by more than 90 of the country’s veterinarians, who showed great interest during presentations of topics such as epidemiology, immunology, diagnostics or the cost of mastitis.

The course was taught by international experts, Prof Dr. Ynte Schukken and Dr. Anja Sipka, both representing Cornell University, and local experts such as Prof Dr. Volker Kromker of the University of Hannover and Dr. Christian Fidelak from Bovicare, who presented different mastitis control programmes in Germany and practical cases of the use of the STARTVAC® vaccine.

Also noteworthy was the presentation of the results from a study by Cornell University demonstrating the effectiveness of STARTVAC® in reducing new infections and increasing the cure rate of S. aureus.

The International Mastitis Course is certified by the CPD Certification Service and is part of the continuing education programme, HIPRA UNIVERSITY, which offers tailor-made solutions to veterinarians in terms of training.
