Its aim is to promote the efficient functioning of the milk and dairy products value chain, improving consumer perception about the high nutritional value and quality of these products by promoting them, and ensuring the long-term support of the sector.

To this end, the Ministry signed, last February, a collaboration agreement with 14 dairies and nine distribution companies to implement the Sustainable Dairy Program, which was later joined a new dairy industry.

The Ministry has also developed a logo that may be included in the packaging of products whose main raw material is milk.

This label can be used on packages of milk, butter, yoghurts, desserts, cream and cheese.

Companies authorised to use the logo of PLS from 5 of September are: Auchan, Mercadona, El Corte Ingles, DIA, Erosky, Carrefour, Nestlé Spain, Clesa Dairy Cooperative Association, Dairy Foods, CAPSA, COVAP, Feiraco Dairy, Grupo Leche Pascual, Sociedad Cooperativa High Morana, Danone, IPARLAT, Asturian and Dairy Industries Mantequerías Arias.
