The poultry and livestock sector saw an increase of 5.3 per cent.

This was driven by the increase in chicken production (8 per cent), which was especially recorded in Lima, and an increase of 8 per cent in the population of laying hens, especially in Ica and La Libertad.

Production of raw milk also increased by 3 per cent due to higher cow numbers, especially in Cajamarca, Arequipa and Cusco.
